We are required by law to give you this privacy notice to explain how we collect, use and safeguard your personal financial information. Information We Collect About and Disclose About You We collect non-public personal information about you form the following sources: * Information we receive from you on applications and other forms; * Information about your transactions with us or others; * Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency. * Information obtained when verifying the information you provided on an application or other forms: this may be obtained form your current or past employers, or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions.
We may disclose all of the information we collect, as previously described and as permitted by law, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. To protect our members’ privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the use information we provide. We do not permit these companies to sell the information we provide to other third parties.
If you terminate you membership with Lockport Schools Federal Credit Union, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as may be permitted or required by law.
How We Protect Your Information. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employees are trained in the importance if maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, or procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
How We Handle Website Information. In general, you can visit us on the World Wide Web without disclosing to us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. There are several areas, however, that will collect certain information about you and we want you to know how we handle that information.
* If you send an e-mail, Lockport Schools Federal Credit Union collects and stores personally-identifying information in order to process your e-mail, form or application. This information is not sold to any third parties. Due to the volume of e-mail activity, these messages are deleted after they are answered or completed.
* If you link to another site from any of our pages, you are leaving our site pages, and we cannot be held responsible for any information that may be gathered at a linked site. We make every effort however, to ensure that all linked sites follow similar privacy policies as ours to offer you maximum security and privacy.
What Members Can Do to Help. Members can help by following these simple guidelines.
* Protect your account numbers, plastic card numbers, PIN’s (personal identification numbers) or passwords, Never keep you PIN with your card, which can provide free access to you account if you card is lost or stolen,
* Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. to other persons. Official credit union staff will have access to your information and will not need to ask for it.
* Keep your information with us current. If your address or phone numbers changes, please let us know. It is important that we have current information on how to reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity or use of an account, we will attempt to contact you immediately.
